Acrylic coated tennis court surfaces are popular in Malaysia. The acrylic surface can be either non-cushioned or cushioned. They are suited to all levels of coaching and training and are used at many tournament venues around the world.
An acrylic surfaced tennis court is basically an application of multiple layers of acrylic material (e.g. resin, paint, etc) on a base surface, commonly concrete or asphalt. There is a wide selection of proprietary acrylic surface systems available in Malaysia. In very basic terms an acrylic surface comprises of applying an initial (filler) coat(s) to the base surface then applying the final coloured coats. The composition and application method of the acrylic material have a direct influence on the playing characteristics of the court.
The exact performance of the proprietary acrylic surfaces differ slightly from product to product, and the subsequent usage of the surface, but they can generally be described as being medium-paced with an extremely true ball bounce of medium height.

Matchplay Product Description
MATCHPLAY ColorCoat Concentrate is a wearresistant,100% acrylic emulsion consisting of brilliant pigments and quality polymers that are blended into a highly concentrated form. ColorCoat Concentrate does NOT contain any asbestos, lead, or mercury. An excellent advantage of the ColorCoat Concentrate product, is that it can be used for both the texture and finish coats, by job-mixing with water and/or silica sand to achieve the desired surface texture and speed of play.
MATCHPLAY ColorCoat Concentrate can be applied to asphalt or properly prepared concrete for the protection and beautification of many recreational surfaces, including tennis courts, basketball courts, playgrounds, handball courts, paddle tennis courts, etc. ColorCoat Concentrate is available in four (4) standard colors: Dark Green, Medium Green, Red and Dark Blue.

After withstanding years of hard play the Matchplay surface on a properly constructed court can be easily renewed without costly removal, relaying or reconstruction work. The process of resurfacing with Plexipave using the normal pedestrian access brings brand new life with a choice of new colours to existing courts.
